JHB Hope Foundation to Zimbabwe

In October 2019, we traveled with the JHB Hope Foundation to Zimbabwe to commission a recently installed well. It was a life transforming and extremely rewarding experience for us and the people we serve. Yet there’s a reality one cannot ignore. The spectacle of suffering, that’s appalling. The question of why is it that God has so endowed the world with natural resources and riches  – yet the so visible poverty and lack for the masses, to the extent that on the day we visited a Mother Baby Maternity Clinic in Mabvuku Harare Zimbabwe – within 3 hours they lost 4 babies. To the human mind the babies expired due to high level of infant mortality, poor prenatal care and lack of clean water sources, all resulting in unhealthy,  unhygienic state or poor life style that is detrimental to the mother and fatal to the unborn child. Then I remember – Romans 8:20 & 32 20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy… 32 “Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?” Our Victory is certain – Hallelujah!!!

Then, again is it the eye opening plight of the GirlChild who’s predicament is much more than her lack of interest in education, and resources for reusable sanitary napkins but more, a lack of basic amenities and clean water. This experience clearly reinforced our understanding and importance of our vision and goals to provide Clean Water. The mission trip gave us clearer understanding into how deep the world water crisis is and the relationship between water & Hygiene at the practical level. Your gifts, support and our mission helped

  • Reduced risk of rape for women
  • Gave life!
  • Sent the GirlChild back to school to obtain proper education – by reducing greatly the time spent under the scotching Sun to fetch water, thereby enhancing improvements in their activities of daily living and improving her quality of life.

Are you ready to be the one our God will use to touch lives and make a difference?
